Hi,
We've finally got to the South after a lot of travelling! We did our massage course in Chiang Mai, which was really good but also very hard - lots of pressure points and stuff to remember. We then got a very uncomfortable night bus down to Hoi Hin, a small seaside town not far South of Bangkok, we went to the night market but there wasn't really much else to do there so we continued South to Ko Samui the next day, one of Thailands largest islands. From here, we got a boat to the full moon party on Ko Pan Gnan. It was very busy and everyone was extremely drunk and dancing to trance music. We enjoyed it for the first couple of hours, but it got a bit boring after a while and we had to wait until half five in the morning to get our boat back!
After Ko Samui we went to a small island nearby called Ko Lanta, the beaches weren't as nice as some of the other places but the sunsets were amazing. We stayed in a really nice place owned by a large family, I think they took a shine to us because they kept saying they wanted us to stay 10 more days! The guy working at the bar knew where we were from because his favourite band was the Arctic Monkeys, and when we told him he decided to play them all night!
We arrived in Ko Phi Phi today, the island that 'The Beach' was filmed on, and also one of the James Bond films I think. It's really picturesque, which is why it's also really busy, even though its low season. We spent the day on the beach today (I'm very sunburnt!) and tommorrow we're going on a snorkelling trip around the islands, which should be good.
We may go on to another island from here, but then it's back to Bangkok before Thursday for our trip to Cambodia, really looking forward to that too, so will let you know how that goes in a week or so.
