Arrived at the Iguassu falls, which are just spectacular. 250 waterfalls bigger than Niagra. Spent two days, one on the Brazilan side and then 1 day over on the Argentinian side. Both were amazing and spent many hours walking above the falls as they crashed beneath. It was a beautiful sunny day and have loads of pictures of the bird park and falls to upload, however it only shows a snip of the actual feeling you get when you are there, just amazing. Took a speed boat under the falls which gets you absolutely soaked, even whilst wearing a waterproof jacket. After the day we all went up to the swimming pool on the roof and sat and sunbathed, although there was actually no sun. Typical English gringos lol
I am officially in Argentina now and we were taken to a ranch yesteday, which was probably the best day yet. We arrived at this beautiful house after driving for about a mile down a dirt track. The house staff had made us feshly cooked empanadas, like a small cornish pastie although one was with meat and the other with sweetcorn. We then went to their conservatory and they cooked us beef with a mixture of Argentian food including spinach flan, salsa, freshly baked bread and salads. This was all washed down with amazing red wine which apparently only costs around 50p a bottle. The ranch was huge and we all went out to get on our horses. it was really laid back, no stupid hour of health and safety just a quick explanation on how to stop the horse. Then we spent the next hour riding through the fields of Argentina with their 3 dogs following us through the fields. Wow. I even managed to canter at one point but this was not intentional, but was incredible. We went through fields of cattle including bulls and day old calves, which was just amazing. I really felt like something out of city slickers. Feels like I have been here for years however it is actually just under 2 weeks. Spent the rest of the day just chilling at the ranch. Had afternoon tea and a couple of the girls played the piano in the house which was full of antiques and beautiful furniture. Have now arrived in San Ignacio to see the Jesuit ruins, where the film the mission was filmed.
