Well since last writing been to Cairns to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation stayed at a wonderful hostel in the actual rainforest. I went on a night walk did not see any wildlife guide said it was his wosrt night all year, still it was good fun. I saw a cassoway bird in Kuranda bird park, to be honest I am glad I did not see one in the wild they are quite fierce birds when frightened there claws can do some damage. Enjoyed tasting exotic fruit ica creams tasted like coffee. Went to the Barrier reef the fish were amazing but the coral looked brown not much colour. Apparently the coral is better further down the coast. Enjoyed watching the parrots in Cairns at the esplanade. Flew from Cairns to Brisbane saw lots of high rises there. Went to the museum and saw an exhibition on surf life guards. Went to the Gallery of Modern Art saw exhibition by australian artist called Howard Blakely he had a drawing of Nick Cave. Went to Fraser Island it was wonderful made of sand you need a 4wd to drive it is all sand roads. You have to drive along the beach it was great the beach is 75 miles long. It rained the first day waded through elib fresh water creek saw a kingfisher. The sky at sunset was amazing there was a rainbow through the clouds. The Australian landscape is so diverse and amazing. Woke up the next day to brillant sunshine went to Lake MacKenzie which is fresh water unfortunately lots of tourists including backpackers go there so it was not as peaceful as my pictures would suggest. Trying to put pictures on with not much sucess. Our landcruiser broke down so I did not get back to Brisbane until 11 at night. Next morning went on a river cruise, I loved the little wooden houses. Brisbane has a lot older buildingsa than anywhere else I have been, until Sydney. The sunset on the plane was amazing. Took the train from the airport into Sydney to Central station the train has an upper and lower deck. Met Jackie today it was a beautiful warm day and we went to Cental Quays where the opera and bridge are. The Sydney opera house looked smaller than I imagined but an amazing building. Went to Watsons cove and had a seafood lunch on the beach at Doyles. Then walked round to see the lighthouse passed some beautiful houses. The ferrys are great and what a view of the harbour. I love the Australian lifestyle so much to do outside, for people of all ages. Went to Manly it is very pretty the ferry goes to one side and you walk along the street to the beach on the other side.
