My last stop before I leave India as I have decided to travel more of Asia rather than going to Europe the next country I am travelling to is Thailand.
The weather in India had reached 48oC so I was only able to go out for a couple hours in the day because it was unbearable. Kolkata (Calcutta) is the place of Mother Teresa and it is a very poor area.
After finding the hostel I did some exploring. There is a vote among India in the next couple of days so there were quite a few large controlled marches happening. Unfortunately during the march I was mugged but luckily I wasnt carrying a lot and wasnt hurt so it could have been a lot worse, then good came out of bad as I was quite shaken I found a group of tourists to take me to an ATM and they were part of a charity helping school poor families in Calcutta. After they took me to my first club in India which was very large and in one room had club music and in another was a live band playing rock music covers like led zeppelin was very surreal and didn't feel like India.
The next day before my flight the group i met took me to a famous restaurant called banana leaf, it was packed and famous for Thali and Dosa's. Thali is a selection of many different dishes like Dahl, veg curry, curd, raita and rice but all in miniature form and Dosa is a very thin pancake and inside you can have cheese or masala potato and its served with coconut chutney and lentil veg curry, all the foods were served on a real banana leaf and you eat with your hands. It was a nice way to end India, with good food, great company and a chilled vibe.
