Jeana langue ni Alice.
Asante sana for your comment and karibu to my travel journal. Wow, free wireless while on deck - that's impressive!!
Did you know it, you're a poet? :P (Lame, sorry, I know... See your comment if you don't understand.)
I will await your next blog update with anticipation...
Missing you! Hakuna matata.
Mum
Hey Alice, Kenya is still awesome - especially today as sitting on deck we have clicked into a wireless connection from the nearby island so fianlly got to see your blog - great beach pictures! Glad to hear courses, food , flatmaates etc all good...
Have taken to long distance swimming here - well fairly while Fenton works on a traditional wooden dhow being rebuilt - my Swahili is coming on apace - not much else to report. All good. Probably head back to Kilifi at the end of this week.
I'm anxious to hear from Rachel - hope she has got there ok.
Enjoy the American dream ( and the cookie dough icecream)

Oh real? Maybe it was a sign you should go "do the whole Queen St" thing again? And maybe I should take that advice too; there's tons of homeless in San Diego. :( But who would I find that's crazy enough to go with me?
Yeah bro, Kenya was awesome! It's probably the place I've been most homesick for, funnily enough; maybe cos my mum was there, but also cos the kids were so gorgeous and it's just so different to anywhere I've ever been, people living in mud huts and all.
How's life in Aucks? Finished with your journalism course, right? Where are you working?
And yes, switch to this link cos I'm here for good. A while anyway.
Justin
oh we were just hanging out, doing the whole queen st thing... just mucking around...
anyway... you went to KENYA! im so jealous... and paris... my two fav places in the world... i haven't been to kenya yet though but i will! sounds like you're having an amazing time though. will you revert to the xanga blog or should i change the link to here?
Some Guy
yeah thats sort of what i meant with the whole different culture thing and the use of slang
Alice
To Some Guy: No, most of the time it's no problems understanding them / them understanding us, just the ocassional slang phrase or something will be different...
Rachy: Are you in Africa now?? I wanna hear about it! UPDATE YOUR BLOG!
Some Guy
far, sounds like its a bit difficult to communicate with the americans, all a bit "P.C." i usually find they talk slowweer and ask me to slow down when i'm talking to them. but that could just be because those guys were a bit slow at everything, made me feel highly intelegent!
Alice
Hey Mira!
I'm here til June... You wanna visit??
Yeah, I remember Yurgs and yeah, that's true, his church is here...

Ohmygosh Rachy, I am SO excited for you! Like seriously I just felt excited reading your comment...
... Or could that be a little envy I was experiencing?
Anways, you are going to making a rockin teacher, the kids will love you and you can radicalise them because apparently not many girls play soccer over there! (Cos mum told you about that girls soccer / community awareness group in Kilifi right? She was really surprised that the girls played soccer cos apparently it's mostly just the boys who do in Africa... But you can encourage the girls too!)
And you get to hang out with absolutely gorgeous little kiddies! Aww, I am so jealous of you for that...
Are you gonna be OK? Maybe go to the doctors cos it could be your last visit to a western one for a while?? Did you get malaria medicine and jabs and all that sussed? (Yellow Fever wasn't as scary as I made it out to be right...)
You so have to update cos I can't wait to hear about your adventures!! I'll pray that God blesses you and keeps you safe and well on ya travels... :)

Yeah, the Mexican food thing is probably more in California, but even in like Chicago it's much more of a big thing than in NZ.
As for cream in the coffee, that's probably more due to religious differences! ;) :P
