Yes! thank you for praying. My scholarship money came through just when i really needed it and now i'm all good financially until next summer. Things have been real good here - i like the new house more each day and I have been enjoying the quiet life with nothing much to do; although i am feeling that I'd really like to work hard at something again so i'm glad uni is not far away from starting. Today i went ice-skating with nicki which was real fun, yesterday i vacuumed (also really fun) and then put on loud music and danced around to it in my lounge! nobody else was there as they were away on staff retreat and sarah's in ashburton :) So i also had a nice relaxing 2 hour bath during which i read my novel and ate a homemade banana muffin :) tomorrow I'm helping out with fusion which is tiring but it feels good to be involved. our cell group is looking rather small, last week it was just me, elsa, mark and nova but there are others also - we miss u tho! I'm also hoping to go on the 18+ leadership camp (but just for the last day as unhappily it clashes with the CSL training days). More old BJ ppl and friends are starting to arrive back in town now which is nice also. I printed out lots of photos from our BJ days and my flat and it's real funny to look back at them on paper - i'll hav to show u the albums when you return. Ok i'm thinking tht maybe i should have sent a separate email as this is a rather long post, but never mind. Hav an awesome week and God Bless you!

Rachy: You have a cellphone?? Actually that shouldn't surprise me, they are EVERYWHERE in Africa huh... Even booths for charging your phone if there's no electricity in your home right...
I'm 858 220 4063. You need the county code first which I think is 1 for USA, but depends on where you're texting / calling from.
What's yours?
Alice
Thanks Mum! Wow, safari sounds... surreal but nice! (You better know what that quote's from!) I'm excited to get a comment from you and yes, I owe you a thank-you for your brilliant advice!
Back at school now; got my first midterm result back from Drugs and Behavio[u]r class and unfortunately was really not happy with it, but I guess it's a good reminder to spend a little more time studying (esp seeing as I never took the pre-req class for this one - aah!). It's a great "building block of our future" I suppose! :P
Am still waiting on two more grades - hopefully better ones!
"Mummy Sarah": Wohoo, a comment from you!! Glad to hear about your nice sunny day. What have you been up to? How's life? And your financial situation? (LOL, you can email if you don't wanna post on here... just it's on my prayer list so hopefully it's been answered?!) Big hugs!! :)

Wow, Alice,
am I reading about that same girl I once mentioned to about the theory that it'd be a good idea to get out there and grab the opportunities?
YOur trip to New York sounds amazing..can't wait to see some photos.. hard to imagine the dreads freezing thing though, when here in Mombasa its humid, dusty and well, you remember, don't you..?
Love to hear of what you are doing.. not sure how being on safari compares except it was so like a real life version of the lion king - I've just bough a pirated version on the streets here to try and share with Fenton who of course went to that musical in London but hasn't seen th emovie - we stayed somewhree much like Lion rock..caled Satao Rock camp if you happen to have time to look at on Net. It was superb..
Anyway, hope you get the odd bit of time for study..in between trips.
love you

Hey Alice - just been reading through all message entries; didn't even realise you had tht feature on this site til now so hav been doing some catching up. Great to hear all about New York especially the UN building, and would like to inform you that today in chch it was really sunny and hot (bit windy tho) so we had a nice summer bbq. lol sorry I just couldn't resist saying that when I've been reading about how cold NY is at the mo. Hope you didn't suffer too much from the cold :) Keep up the great journal entries and I pray your study goes well,
GBUH
Lots of Love, Sarah
P.S. John I can't believe you remembered that pamplemouse means grapefruit - ur memory is amazing! Hope ur having a good break from uni and I look forward to catching up wen u get bac.

Rachy: Just a quick reply from me - thanks for your humungous comment! Yes, I totally understand about the volunteer thingy, but what a bummer for you huh! So when are you going to go and see mum? (I am SO jealous!)
That's all from me for now, sorry I probably didn't cover all your comments / questions. Luv you!
Liv: Working on the list; I intend on doing an update soon. Thanks for your email. Sorry not to have replied til now (here). Could I pretty please have a week-long extension for the list?? Maybe Rach could too? I'll be your bestest friend... :p Hang on, maybe I shouldn't make promises I can't keep... :p Kidding! (Or was I?! :P) I WILL give you a free hug tho!

alice your awesome! I love the way your so good at meting new people! i think ill make that one of my february resolutions - to be more friendly. Read my blog to hear about my latest change in plan - quite a biggy but i hope u understand.
Am off to the coast tomorrow with barbara which im really exited about! I know what you mean about getting back into the travel mode. Its fun staying in one place as you get to be more settled but there is something so satisfying to see places that are so different and that especially here I dont think I will ever see many of the places twice.
I love reading about what you up to! Its great and very envious of all your photos - mine take aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages to download so have to sit at the comp for so long!
Do you have a cell over there? cos i have one and was thinking bout txting u the other day but wasnt sure if you had one...
Am very much looking forward to seeing mum in kenya - partly cos kenya sounds quite a bit scarier than it is here in ghana where I generally always feel safe even by myself.
|Hope New York is awesome!
Love you heaps
Keep being you!

PS: Cushy, yay for a Full House fan!! I honestly can't remember the birdge tho, sorry.

Lizzy Loo Loo: Please excuse my terrible sleuthing skills (why did I never learn from Nancy Drew?!) but... who are you? Sorry!! (Please don't take it personally, it's just I can't figure if you're a Lulu or an Elizabeth or what... Could it be Elizabeth my lovely almost next door neighbour of 2006? Or the ever-bubbly Bish Lulu? Or Lulabella who's now back in Chicago? Or none of the above?)
Cushy: I WISH you were coming too! Dude, twice in the past two days have I seen someone far-off and for a second thought it was you! So, according to my great psychology skills, that must mean I'm missing you!
Uncle Gordon: I'll try update with exciting news from [freezing!] New York when I arrive there in a few days.
