Im now currently on a Island off the coast of Thailand where ive had a few restful days away from computers.
I ended my trip off in Japan by traveling to Kyoto the former capital of japan and visiting all the old buildings there. it looked like a wonderful place but if you ever go make sure to book your hostel ahead of time as it is possable to get a room there. we eventully foind a hotel (rokuen i think its spelt a sleeping on the floor job) that wasn't to expensive after 7 hours of wandering around with our backpacks. we headed out for dinner then visited our local arcade. soon after we tried out the Kareoke for the for 1st time. We headed up a lift to where we thought one was then we met 3 people on the counter who showed us our booth. were groups of people will sit in private and sing together from a HUGE selection of songs. One of the greatest places ive been and id highly recommend it to anyone, we went there thinking it would be awkward but it was far from it, that night we got insanely drunk james slipped on his chair and put a whole through the roof and we woke up to discover sick in the cuboard just norrowingly missing out bags. We cleaned that up and made haste out of there. after many more hours of looking for a hostel we gave up and decided to return to our lovely place in Tokyo which took 3 hours by the bullet train.
We arrived in Tokyo and booked a night in the Pod. we returned to our local bar to discover all except 1 of our friends had gone, so we rejoiced with our american friend eric and drank till 1 then we found a couple more english people and headed down for another fantastic night of Kareoke. we returned very hung over at 5 and had to get up at 9. we discovered our local hostels were full of french studends so we trekked off and found a great place just behind a small amusment park next to the main temple in awasaka. the room was nice and quiet with a fantastic air conditioning unit. after sleep we trekked our ate, visited the local town then down to the local for our last night.
we then had to get up early for the flights. we got to tokyo where james paniced as his flight was leaving soon and the booked train didn't arrive till late so he launched himself aboard the train with a quick "we'll meet at bangkok airport" once i got to the airport i discoverd that id lost track of time and that my plane wasn't till a day later. so a wonderful day at the airport of waiting then sleeping in a horrible spot which was designated for over night stayers. At this time the Typoon hit japan so all flights where canceled. in the morning i got ready and boarded the plane. I had a very unplesent flight in the Typoon and narrowingly missing the earth quake in japan, aboard the plane i met 2 japanese students who were studing parmacy and it was their 1st flight so they where very excited but nervious by the end of it. I arrived into the airport an hour late but couldn't find either james or the person who was asked to collect me so i evently found a taxi to take me to the Honey Hotel in bangkok.
the country is a very very very different place to Japan and i was happy to get to the hotel and sleep. unfortunatly there was no internet so i couldnt get in contact with james so after a exchange of expensive calls and txts with my family james got the address and arrived after a couple days of stay. unfortunatly i was on the part of town where there was nothing and the staff where very moody! so in the morning after james' arrival we headed down to Khaosan where we stayed cheapy in a air conditioned room. it was highly interesting to see the street which was full of cheap anything you want but unfortunatly your contantly being hastled by people wanting you to by there stuff which is very tiring after walking down 1 street. So we went to james' local bar where everyone was very nice and welcoming. after drinking alot for very little we slept then repeted that the next day except in the evening we took a tuk tuk to the main shopping centre where we played some arcades and played futuristic bowling. the next day we lazyly got up for our 16 hour bus/boat trip to the island. its a great place due to james knowing the owner of the resort we're at so for what would be an expenisve island is very cheap and welcoming.the resort is placed on the beach where there are parm trees and sand everywhere with the most amazing view and outstandingly beautiful sunsets across the ocean. The last few days have been spent riding our bikes, lazing, playing with the local dogs, swimming, eating and lots of drinking. there are some locals to the resort that ended up there by random decided to stay there a night and have been there about 2+ years. one of them is teaching me to drive, i had my 1st lesson in the pool today then tomorrow we're getting up early to go tomorrow in the ocean, i just don't feel to confident as my last nights dreams all consisted of being eaten by sharks and thats what we will be swimming with!!
thats very briefly whats taken place. ill type more later
