Sorry Sorry Sorry, Ive been told off for not writing anything or putting any photos on yet. To be honest I didnt think anyone would have looked at it yet but clearly my adventures in Oz are way better than the coldness of Britain.
I cant get any photos on yet because the computer im using doesnt have anywhere to plug things in but i will asap.
The flight here was a nightmare far too long but when we arrived it was 30 degrees so its not all bad! We spent the first few days by the lagoon which is an open air swimming pool right by the sea, trying to get a bit of a tan and catch up with everyone else. then we booked a boat trip on wednesday where we could snorkel and do a dive. After the 1st dive the diving dude asked if anyone wanted to do a second dive and i was the only person to take him up on his offer so it was me and two diving instructors that went out onto what he called 'the real barrier reaf'. And it was amazing! The guy just let me swim around by myself without telling me where to go and let me hold some coral etc. HE then nearly made me drown by making me touch a giant clam which snaps when anything touches it, i nearly choked i got such a fright. On th way back to the main boat the guy said that he saw a Manta Ray, basically a massive and i mean huuuuuge sting ray.Bigger than a grown man in length so we both jumped back in without any equipment on and had a swim with it. this is wheni thought i saw a small reef shark (perfectly harmless) but got such a fright tht i grabbed ahold of my instructors hand and he laughed becasue it was just a big fish.
Then on Friday i did something that my mother dearest may have kittens about, I decided to do a skydive the day before so i booked it for th next day so i couldnt bottle it. I had to wait on th beach from 11ish till about half 2 to do my jump. To b honest i was more scared about getting on the tiniest plane you will ever see than actually jumping out of it. Didnt help that the instructors were taking the mick saying that i was harnessed on properly etc. It took about 20 minutes to fly up there and when the green light comes on in th plane (which they think its funny to put an evacuate sign next to) you basically get shoved out of the plane. As you can see from my video i really do get shoved. But it was so worth, free falling out of a plane for 60 seconds is the best thing ive ever done. The adrenaline didnt wear off till that night. The guy then let me steer the parachute myself which was ridiculously scary but cool because we could see turtles etc from the sky and we landed on a completely empty beach with blue sea and islands in the distance.Il pu the videos and pictures on as soon as i can theyre funny. I really wanna do it again now! it was amazing!
Going to Port Douglass tomorrow and then im white water rafting on monday with my new found welsh friend joe (very welsh).
lots of love Alex xxx
