Left Bremen bright and early after a fantastic night's sleep; we both felt much more relaxed and refreshed. The journey through to Kolding went really smoothly. When we stopped late morning at a motorway service we saw the couple off the ferry who had brought their dog with them. We stopped to say hello and listened to a catalogue of disasters which had befallen them. Their sat nav didn't work properly from the moment they got off the boat and they ended up riding for 400 miles before they found a place to camp which allowed their dog! They are also experiencing mechanical problems- they are heading off on a 7 week tour going up to the top of Norway and then back through Finland- I hope that their bad luck doesn't rub off on us!
Our hotel here is right on a Ffjord, it was built as a Sanitarium for children with TB. It has been renovated beautifully. We went out for a walk along the peninsula which was very relaxing in the sunshine. We thought the hotel was empty until we went down for tea and saw all the cars that had arrived from out of nowhere! Colin ordered a veal steak and I asked for turbot, my meal was twice the size of Colin's and when I hadn't eaten all of it the waitress was quite worried that I didn't like it.
Colin is enjoying having the IPad as we have free wifi here and he is investigating what to do in Copenhagen tomorrow.
