This was our favourite place, starting with Heidi & Paul ( our hosts ) she grew up in the area & had the most delightful accent & was really bubbly & helpful. The harbour is the 3rd deepest in the world & it was full of very big sailing ships & naval vessels. There were service men & woman everywhere so a good bit of eye candy for Bob & I. The train ride was great, beautiful old station with a proper ladies waiting room complete with fireplace. A lovely little tea room & a buffet on the train. They did things well in the old days. It wasn't a long ride but the countryside was spectacular.

Not a good B & B, the meal at the local wasn't much either after waiting a couple of hours for the kitchen to open. The next morning was good tho when we stumbled on an old tin mine. It had a couple of old water wheels & was made into restaurant. With a Sunday roast the norm around here we were delighted with lamb followed by apple crumble & custard / butterscotch pancakes & ice-cream for me.

Stayed in a lovely little B&B ( The Bank House full of nik naks & paintings ) in the very pretty main street that runs down to the beach. The beach is rocky so they put these plastic walkways to the waters edge & also to wheel their boats out on. We've noticed a lot of middle aged to older have walking sticks.
