Landed 14.10 in Frankfurt, flight was quick, mainly because I slept for 8 hours. Used TAM Brazilian Airlines this time and it was nice to be able to buy an exit seat at check-in!! I am glad I left 6 hours prior to departure, I have never spent so much time in traffic to the airport and queuing for check-in, security and passport as in Sao Paulo's under-dimensioned airport. This fantastic skyline is of the buildings along Paulista avenue, the main artery in the city. I was on the roof of the former Art Center, now a restaurant serving dinner with a view! S.P is special in many ways: it has the largest Italian population outside Italy, the largest Japanese population outside Japan, the largest Spanish population outside Spain... No wonder it has grown to 23 million!

Ok, so here I am, in one of the world's biggest cities. Got a two hour nap this morning and feel fine now. This is a city of huge contrasts between the poor neighborhoods I passed through on the 2 hour drive from the airport, to the Funchal business area where I am now.
