Perth-geraldton
Packed went to collect the car. Signing the paper work and noticed a 500km radius within Perth cbd term. I was not amused and demanded to know where this had been on the website as this meant we couldn't do half our trip.
Decided we'd have to just cut our trip short and set off anyway.
First day we drove from Perth to Nam bung national park to go see the pinnacles - mart was not amused I made him pay $12 to go and see "some rocks" as he put it. I was just following the map! Next up..Cervantes... Thing about the west coast is it's the polar opposite to the east! There's really not many Cars on the roads and there's generally just not many people around. At times it's a little creepy, some places reminded me of the hills have eyes. Or definatley wolf creek (if you haven't seen that film don't watch it- we're fine!!)
Cervantes didn't have much to it so we made ourself a sandwich and sat on the jetty with our feet dangling in the Indian Ocean whilst we ate and carried on to jurien bay..again nothing much there so we carried on along the Indian Ocean highway for miles and miles barely seeing another car until we reached the town of geraldton. It was dark now and we learnt our lesson from the east. In Australia you do NOT drive after sunset. Between the roos and the roads it's not safe. Also we've had many conversations about how WA would be perfect if you killed someone no one would ever find the body!
Geraldton is more of a town than the rest, everything's abit old school here. Had a nice walk along the shore front and watched the fishing boats going out for the night and everyone playing in the waves which we're huge- wouldn't get us in the sea. Sharks in WA!
Drove round for a while and found a comfortable secluded spot behind some offices for the night- quite a good night sleep all in all!
