Kuala Lumpur
What a stressful morning. We left our hostel super early 06:30 train wasn't for 2 hours so plenty of time. Caught the tube to bugis station and had been assured you walk out the station get on a bus to take you to the train station we needed.
Could not find this stupid bus anywhere. Several wrong turns and many people asked later we found it. Hopped on the bus with not a lot of time to spare.
The bus pulled up at woodlands station with 15 minutes To go. Not sure why everyone was getting off the bus a delightful man helped us...got off the bus through passport control and back down the stairs. Wasn't sure what to do again saw the nice man again and he showed us how to get back onthe bus.
Pulled up at JB station with 8 minutes to go.
Through immigration again he took extra time on mine..mart walked straight through I had a finger print scan and an extra sticker in my passport..then we had to scan our luggage. By this point we had 4 minutes..not being sure if it was hopeless we ran with a 16kg backpack and handbag that's hard!!
It was a longer run than expected..eventually got there and the train was meant to have gone. I went to ask if there we're any buses we could get and they informed me the train was still there. Couldn't believe our luck!
Train ride was 7 hours to KL ..not much room but it had air conditioning and was quiet so slept for a while.
First thing we noticed was the price difference a taxi to our hotel cost £2 ha! It's very different to Singapore it's a little more 3rd world..crazy busy but has a lot of character.
Checked into a lovely hostel so cheap we had our own room and headed out for food as we hadn't eaten all day of course we went to China town.
Managed to navigate the tube which like Singapore was very easy you don't get tickets though the machine gives you a poker chip.
Caught the monorail to KLCC. ended up in a gigantic shopping mall..KL is very good for shopping it literally has everything!
Made our way to the famous patronus towers. Impressive to say the least!
We found a bar as we do an watched a light and fountain show..went back to the towers to see them lit up and ended up lying down on the floor for a while just admiring how impressive they are.
Back for an early night and a day shopping around the markets tomorrow before we go back to the train station (the monorail will cost us about 25p). Going to leave with plenty of time to spare this time though and take food with us..shall be a long day I'd imagine..on to Penang.
