Ah, finally...familiar faces. As things tinted out, I got the chance to stay with Richard & Carolyn Weiss after all and seeing those smiling faces after walking into their lovely home...it felt real good, like it was home. Funny thing is that I've only met them once when they were visiting Houston for a while but that's how CSers roll, we are all family.
After setting my bags down, Richard takes me to the living room, sits me down and begs to hear all about my trip. That's the question o get everywhere and while I'm more than happy to chat the night away about anything, answering the same question begs for some creativity. So after the usual intro to this voyage so far, I tend to focus in one aspect, usually the most recent and see where it goes from there.
After dinner at a local cafe with live music, I really wanted to stay another night but booking a hostel a few days in advance calls for a tight schedule. Good thing the return journey has yet to be figured out, I will certainly be seining through again. One evening with this couple just isn't enough. Their hospitality can easily rival the southern. In the morning, I am Reedsport bound.
