So, sittng at work on monday - in the cold, 10meter visibility and driving hailstones ... i wasnt too keen to stay and work due to the forecast outlook for the following five days. So with a little shuffling of days off i managed to get myself 3 days off with a few buddies to road trip down south to Queenstown (QT).

6pm depature from Methven, clothes (incl ski gear) in a plastic bag... and armed with ID and money from pay day. First stop subway, nothing exciting ... except i was traveling with an irishmen and american and an english chick .. the curtural barriers were ... hilarous.

Finally with a fairly stedy drive we arived in QT, around 12 ... not wanting to miss a night out in a town with real bars, music etc ! We proceede to head on out to cowboys - this real old school bar with nothing to show for it other than a couple of bar staff with hats and bucking bronko, and yes we did try it. Buy this time we had decided that it was time for a Ferg burger ** .

**Ferg burger - for those who have been to chamonix, its as good if not a tiny bit better than polka loca ... incredible. **

After this little bit of heaven had been destroyed - we proceeded to the tardisc ... i was DEVISTATED to understand it had not Dr Who theme ...that would have made my life!

Day 1 .

Blue bird day, no winds, beautiful. We headed on up to remarks where we were greated with perfect skiing all day long. It was great, they even had a little apres ski thing (a novelty in NZ). Was cool to ride with some seriously cool skiiers esp in the park and off peist ... hard work.. but cool.
We then headed to minus 5 icebar. This place is effectively an ice room .. where everythingdown to the glasses you drink from are made from ice ... SO DAM COOL! We got in free aswell cause we were NZski Staff :D WINNING!

Day 2

weather closed in over night .. looking like it could be a grim day . . . got up to remarks .Sun.Fresh Pow. and not a person on the hill. We were so so lucky with the weather ... so we got a whole day riding in pow and sunshine .WINNINGx2 ! Headed on down the hill to experience buffalo on Ginger pride night .. We head hunted a ginger who we knew from the moutain ... and got him on board ! Great night and cool to hang out with loads of new people ... and a few i kinda new from uni etc.

Day 3 .

Home time :( .. we left at 6am.. and drove to Ohau .. It is a club feild with one chairlift . It overlooks the most beautiful lake and better still no groomers at club feilds. So after our day of pow in remarks we got yet another at ohau. I cannot stress how, awesome it was ... *photos to follow* probally the best day on skis i have had ever.

as that day came to an end it was home time for sure. We proceeded to drive home when the boys decided they needed a toilet stop - fair enough ? - except they pulled over into a bog ... and the car was WELL and truely stuck. After several attempts ... and ALOT of pushing on the boys part we got out of this situation .. however anything white that they were wearing will NEVER be white again .. haha

anyway, QT was incredible. Hopefully i can get a chance to go back next month .. its was sooo much fun. I would 100% do a season there !
