Hi...so le left Batemans bay in a hurry as the weather was atrocious. It was so bad that i was meant to drive..but didnt as it would have been my first time in an automatic and i didnt really fancy doing it if i couldn't even see out of the window...so lee drove. It was a four hour drive but we stopped off for little stops and we were just about to pull into merimbula and we saw a sign to a wildlife santuctuary. So we thought. What the hell. The weather by now had improved but was by no means good. So we thought we would use the opportunity for Dean and Charlie to come up close and personal with some of australias famous wildlife.
The state of New South Wales has strict laws about Koalas so unfortunatly they werer unable to hold one. But the did get to be up next to it and they did stroke it and we did see Bruce (as he was called) jump down from his tree and run across the ground and crawl up another...which im told is a real rare thing for them to do in front of humans. They also saw Baby crocs...a few reptiles (although they were nothing too special) and emus, dingos but by far....the Kangeroo's stole the show. We all fed them and they were big chracters which loved a scratch under the chin. We al enjoyed that but i think charlie and dean REALLY enjoyed it!
After we headed on down to Merimbula found ourselves a holiday park which had powered sites. The Holiday park reminds me of a pontins kinda place. It has a massive swimming pool with rapids...it has a giant bouncing cushion....it has free bbqs...big shower blocks...tv room...pool room....kids clubs etc. But by far the best thing is it is situation. Its on a clifff overlooking the beach below us and all you can hear all day is the crashing waves and this morning the weather is stunning so it feels very sweet to be here. We have decided to stay another day here as it is so peaceful and nice.
Today we are going to have a bbq and head down for the beach. What a day!
Bet you wish you were here!
Love Kirsty, Lee, Dean and Charlie xxx
