Off to the Newark Air Museum, which was brilliant for a couple of reasons. Firstly their array of planes is different to most other museums, where else will you see an Avro Shackelton, Vulcan and a HP Hastings or some many Gloster Meteors?  Secondly many of them are outside witch makes for good photographs, although the weather makes them look a bit tired and must mean a huge maintenance bill. Dragged Mum and Dad to the RAF Museum at Hendon today. Something I had wanted to see since going there as a kid. Obviously a great range of planes and artefacts although I found it a little disappointing in that they keep the lighting subdued (I assume so that it reduces damage to paint work and hence maintenance costs) which means everything is dull and it is hard to take photos. Back in town for a couple more days before heading to Upton

09/09/2012 First full day in London so we did a hop on hop bus tour. Given it was 28 today it was a by good idea. The open top double deckers are the way to go for looking at all the sites. What makes them even better is your ticket lasts technically 2 days.
