Hello from hot Madrid!
I have started my travels here in Madrid and under the wings of Linda who has been working here the past 3 months. She knows her way around here and it has been like a luxus vacation with a private guide. I have also meet Linda's room mates and some of her friend from work.
I arrived on Tuesday and after some walking in Retiro park and relaxing with tintoverano-drinks on one of the plazas I was tired enough to sleep even if it was really hot. Next day we made a day tour to a village called El Escorial. A really cute village with a monastery and adorable places to eat lunch. So of course we had a Spanish lunch with 3 courses and vine:) Also Terhi, Linda's friend from work was with us. After lunch we took another bus to the "valley of the fallen" a monument/ tomb that Franco had built for him self. It was a big and scary tomb with a 150 m tall cross above it in the middle of nowhere... It was a really unrealistic place.
In the evening we returned back to Madrid and had a nice dinner with a lot of meat! And good red wine. We continued to a bar with Linda and the next morning was a bit slow. So we had a really relaxing day, took a ride with a teleferico to a public swimming pool and stayed there the afternoon. In the evening we started to prepare for Linda's farewell party that we are having today. We bought some food and drinks...and this is the most amazing part for me in Madrid... Food for a 3 course dinner for 8 persons, 4 bottles of vine, 3 of cava and a vodka all together only 50 euros!!!! 6 euros per person, wow! I would have home parties every day:)
Today Lida had to go to work so I have been fixing all kind of things, like accomodation in Korea, re-confirming tickets, reading mail etc... it took a while, then in the afternoon I wen shopping and found some nice stuff on sale. And now we are home and it's time to start to prepare the farewell party.
So everything has started very nicely and it feels really to be on holiday here. Sunny and + 38 celsius:)
