Woke up early to catch a 7am boat back to Belize City from Caye Caulker. From there a bus ride across into Guatemala to Tikal. There are 3 others also traveling from Caye Caulker. Tim and Anna from Melbourne and Steve from New York. Crossing the border was painless, not even one question. We arrived in Tikal around 3.30pm. Found a hotel which had tents for rent out the back which cost about $9USD per night. Through in our packs and went into the ruins to watch the sunset. When we got into the main plaza of the ruins we realized that we wouldn't be able to see the actual sun set but could see the colours on the ruins caused by the sun setting. It was great, and we only saw another 6 people there.

Got back into the ruins about 7am for about a 10km walk around the park. The ruins were great and saw some wildlife, but didn't see a jaguar like we hoped, but maybe better we didn't, wouldn't know what to do if it started running at us. By around midday we were all stuffed, after climbing 3 of the ruins. Headed back to the hotel for a shower then hopped on a bus to Flores where we would then catch a bus to Antigua which is a 9 hour bus ride. We decided to do this overnight so could just sleep on the bus and save on a nights accommodation. We spent about 5 hours in Flores while waiting for the bus. It was bloody hot, so we found a bar in the shade and just had a few drinks.
