We all headed to the Queen Victoria Markets first thing today. The delicatessen section is great. Every imaginable type of sausage, cheese and bread. And the butcher shops have all kinds of meat at reasonable prices. There is a large fresh fruit and veg section - all bustling and busy. Everyone bought something. There were a few too many twists and dips in the road by the end of the day yesterday for C, we've seen enough limestone to keep us satisfied and it's wet and cold today, so we decided to get out on the highway and head to Geelong where we had lunch and then on to Melbourne. We found the Big4 and settled in. Still raining all day. No point going to the snow until this weather improves.

The limestone rock formations that make this part of the coast famous certainly are impressive. Everyone has heard of the 12 Apostles but there's a heap more of them stretched out for many kms. My favourite is probably 'London Bridge' or 'The Thunder Cave'. Lots of tourists, bus loads of Japanese people. The drive through the Otways is excellent fun, constantly up and down and all twisty. Today's drive involved lunch at Warnammbool which was a picnic in the park that turned out to be fun. J & C had fun playing on a big round rope swing. We spent the afternoon in the historical village down by the marina where they have recreated a working marine village. There's a blacksmith, a boat builder, dressmaker, cooper, rope maker, medical officer's residence, gaol and boats (of course). J tried to pick up everything: massive chain links, ...
