Adam and Lu's travels
So, after a ferry trip (managed to pull the wool over the ferry co's eyes and declared that there were infact no beds in the van at all = saving of $45...Bargainawl) we arrived in the south island..
Immediately feeling the temperature difference we were forced out of t-shirts and flip floppers to boots and baselayers!.
It is true as rumour goes that the South Island is more beautiful than the north....loads of empty beaches and snow-capped mountains.
Trickling our way down the east coast we arrived at a spot called Kaikoura and chilled for a few days whilst observing seals, scoffing fish and chips, snatching some cold waves and cliff-top walks.
Next stop was the banks penninsula nr christchurch where Adam decided to ignore warnings of 'dangerous not suitable for campervans' roadsigns and thus nearly took us over the hillside down 1000ft!!......wave searching requires such risk taking........even if lu was blubbering through fear of her life and loss of the van deposit!
Further down south we have been penguin spottin'....have seen the yellow-eyed type (the rarest kind) so far....will endeavour to get piccies soon.....TBC
