Adam and Lu's travels
Hola Folks
This is a bit of a late entry, mainly due to the lack of a decent internet connection, but we have finnally found one!
Here on the Peninsular de Osa, Adam has scored some lovely waves at Matapalo so he is happy, even though we had to catch a collectivo taxi at six in the morning to get there, and the ride was an hour of dusty, bumpy travel in the back of an illegally rigged out truck (pictures to come). Whilst walking to the beach we always saw squirel monkeys swinging in the trees and one cheeky monkey decided to throw a stick at us! got some good photo's too.
We have seen lots of scarlet Macaws and also a racoon. Adam has become a bit of a birdwatcher - no not the Costa Rican ladies, he's not into big buxom booty!
We spent a night at a place called Rio Nuevo Lodge, which is a tent camp in the middle of the rainforest, 500 metres up. The views blew our minds and it was so tranquil, just the exotic noises of all the strange animals, so forgein to blighty. Adam spotted a Tucan, but as usual i was sleeping! The whole experience was the best so far on the trip, and we managed to fit in two treks which meandered up and down the forest, through some rivers, which meant Adam managed to soak his Merrells!
We are totally sick of rice and beans, and have been searching for alternative cuisine where possible, which usually results in italian or mexican.
Panama next - to the mountains first!
Adios
P. S almost forget about one of our most exhillerating and perhaps dangerous experiences to date!
we took on a kyaking tour down a mangrove river near the sea. 5 mins into our 4 hour trip, the heavens opened and fork lightening and heavy rain decended. We were still up for it though and were kyaking in the sea whils the lightening just kept going! Wont forget that in a hurry!
