Day 56
We travelled to another island called Koh Phi Phi Don and stayed at Rantee Cliff Beach Resort our accommodation was a bungalow right on the beach. The views were stunning but the sea was a bit rocky, you can't have it all!
Day 57 We chilled on the beach and in the evening I met a friend for life. His name was Wanon and he was a little monkey! He was tied to a tree and looked after by the owner as his monkey group had neglected him and may try and kill him if he goes into the jungle alone. I held him and played with him for a bit and after he stopped trying to steal my sunglasses and bite me. He snuggled into my arms and tried to go to sleep. Oh how I miss Wanon :(. Hannah also met a friend for life when we got to back to the bungalow - a massive spider in the curtains - when she closed them a spider fell out and boy he was huge! I'm normally quite good at removing insects but there was no way I was going near this one, we both slept with one eye open that night.
Day 58
Today we had booked a boat trip around the islands and visited "Maya Bay" which is where they filmed "The Beach" - Leonardo Di Caprio - no we hadn't seen the film either. The water was so clear and blue it looked like a swimming pool. We also went to Bamboo Island, Shark Point, a cave and Monkey Island. Monkey island was awesome, wild monkeys were sat on the beach as we got off and we took some photos of them. You couldn't go too close as they would run at you, especially the mothers and fathers looking after their young. The highlight off this Island was when a monkey grabbed a Pringles pot off a tourist and started eating them. I guess the saying is true "once you pop you can't stop!"
We also snorkelled in a really good spot and the 2 Thai men who had taken us on the tour chucked bread in where we were snorkelling to attract more fish! The fish seemed to think we were the bread though as we kept getting nibbled at!
On the way back to the resort it started spitting and before we knew it it was torrential rain. We got absolutely soaked as the boat was open but it was good fun and a great trip. We also both said goodbye to Wanon in the evening as the following day we were travelling to Koh Lanta.
