A sleep in at last, till about 8.30! Must be on holidays.
We started the day with a walk along the cliffs of Boscastle, then through the cute village, getting the local gossip from the Postman along the way. We then headed down even smaller, steeper and more winding roads towards Port Isaac, better known as Port Wenn in the Doc Martin series. The doc's house was there, the school house and harbour but I was disappointed we couldn't recognise more of the set locations.
Still a cute seaside town, and the seagulls were nesting with their babies on the cliffs, close to the path. So cute.
The girls then went to explore the ruins of Tintagel Castle, reputedly the home of King Arthur ( the one with the round table). Lots of stairs and steep hills. Stan headed off on the coastal track back to Boscastle. It was quite a walk, with the track hugging the cliffs going up and over the hills. Great views. Even a bit hot and sunny. Yeah - we had sunshine and bluish skies. Makes everything look even better.
I quite like the idea of castles, dungeons , but not sure why they built a castle on such an exposed cliff? No wonder it didn't last....

Ciocia Izia Castles on Cliffs - good view - maybe cos it's harder for enemies to get to; any escapees can fall to their demise; easier for the dragons to fly out over air space. ????
