Metros
The Moscow Metro dates back to 1931, has 195 stations and is 325.4 km long. Many of the stations are located deep underground (Park Pobedy being the deepest at 84 m) and because of this, it was decided during the Cold War (1945-1991), that these deep stations double as a nuclear shelter due to the constant threat of nuclear attack. Today, approximately 7,000,000 people use the metro on a daily basis.
