Hola from Spain!
Well Carly and I have gone our separate ways for a week, and are due to meet back up in Amsterdam on Thursday to start the long journey home.
On Thursday we both flew to Germany to meet up with our siblings - Carly to Munich for the Oktoberfest and adventures in Berlin, and me to Bremen to meet my bro.
Since then I've managed 3 countries in 4 days! We drove up to Denmark for the weekend as my brother was racing (cycling for those that don't know) and he won the race! Cool, huh?! I like to think it was my influence :) Unfortunately the weather didn't follow us, and it was absolutely freezing and raining. It doesn't help that Denmark is so flat that it is also extremely windy.
Back to Hamburg on sunday night, then flew to Bilbao, Spain yesterday to stay with an old friend from Mildura who has been living in a little town called Gernika for about 6 years. This area is absolutely gorgeous - surrounded by high mountains covered in trees, it's very hilly but so beautiful. Jules loves Gernika and I can see why - it's town is small and quaint, the people are lovely and all so good-looking in that dark-skinned, black-haired way that we Aussies can't ever achieve!!!
Today we're off to see the surrounds of Gernika then into Bilbao for the afternoon. Hoping to see the Guggenheim to take a picture of the building for Carly!
Back to Hamburg tomorrow night, then the 5 hour drive to Amsterdam airport to fly home. My apologies for not putting up blogs more often, but it takes longer than I thought, and we haven't managed much spare time. Hope you have enjoyed reading the few stories we have managed, and we'll tell you them in person (if you want to hear them!) when we get back!
