So after Byron we went to Surfers Paradise, basically the miami of Australia, with a nice beach but lots of high rise buildings, not what I expected from the name. (see the pic). All we really did here was go to the beach, sunbathe and drink (as seems to be a trend in almost everywhere we go).
I am now in Harvey Bay, nicknamed as Scurvey Bay as there is nothing to do here and its not that nice a town. We are hopefully going to Fraser Island tomorrow but the last couple of days have been cancelled due to all the rain we have had and the island is made of sand and we are camping. Today it brightened up this afternoon so we are hopping that it will last for a few days as it is so hot and sunny when it is nice. We spent last night in Rainbow beach, it is the smallest town ever and it rained so we just stayed in and drank a bit. Luckily today it brighted up before we left so we could actually go to the beach to see the different coloured sands, (hence the name) it was pretty cool but we could only see the black, yellow and white sand out of the suposed 70 different colours. hehe.
Before that it was Noosa as you know as I spoke to you alot there. On our last night it wasnt raining so we attempted to go out but couldnt get into the one and only club as I had rubber flip flops on, the stupidest rule eveer for a surfing town. But we went to a wine bar instead.
We have met a Canadian called Lindsay who is also coming with us to Fraser tomorrow, she is also 22, so we are hoping for some more people our ages in our van, but I guess we'll see in the morning.
