After much deliberating, a decision has been made.
Before any big trip, there's always a lot of planning to do. Luckily, until now at least, there's been very little planning to do. Passport has always been in order and as I don't believe in winter, I always have a plentiful supply of summer clothes. The night before, I throw whatever is at hand into my backpack then take some of it out to make room for some more flip flops and I am ready to rock. But not this time, no, no nooo.
After making the somewhat random decision to jack in everything here and head off back to the tropics (well, Jakarta at least), everything has gone haywire. My passport, which is due to expire next year only had 3 blank pages left. This would have been sufficiant for my trip to the US in June but as history has shown, when entering Indonesia, the Tugas Imigrasi like to stamp 500 pages at a time. So, after asking every single person I have ever met whether they were allowed to countersign the new photo for my passport (needed a new one, looked about 3 in my last), I finally got it signed and after parting with £85, off it went.
So, one thing down, a lot more to go!
As I'm transferring my degree study to a distance learning course, I still need to pass the year at the university I am currently attending. This apparently means a lot of essays to write and countless late nights messing around on Facebook when I should really be revising.
I also don't have a backpack! I have a giant holdall that I could live inside and a broken suitcase but no backpack. Trip to Millets methinks!
Anywho, that's it for now, I've got a trip to Brighton to plan before New York so back to trawling the World Wide Web I go...
