Hello Everybody!
Well i made it down to Surat Thani (after i accidentally went to the wrong airport -oppps) the flight was fine literally only 50mins long. then i got a bus to the pier and a boat to Koh Phangan. That evening i met up with Anna - the girl i met on my very first day in Bangkok and i was introduced to all her friends. The next day i lounged about on the beach as my little bungalow opened straight onto the sand - i could even here the sea from my bed!!!
After a lot of lazing and eating and napping preperation for the full moon party got underway.
i arrived at 11pm and it was packed! i have never seen so many people in such a tiny weeny place. I saw fire throwers, lady boys, professional dancers singers, DJs, fire skipping, fireworks, and so much more!
the night itself was easily the best night out i have had on my travels - BUT warning for all you full mooners don't take anything ANYTHING you wouldn't mind loosing - i had a lot of money and my phone pick pocketed out of my bag and heard so many other horror stories about cameras and bank cards so just be sensible. it is so packed. my thief even managed to zip my bag back up for me without me noticing.
We all stayed and caught sunrise and i wondered home at at 7am - most of the next day was lost for sleeping and recovering but we did still managed to creep down to the beach and just relax before we caught the boat to Koh Samui.
Koh Samui is a very lovely island but very commercial so everything is quite pricey. We stayed in Green Villa Bungalows which was a nice place 5 mins from the beach. Our first day we were still recovering from the full moon so straight to the beach we went. We did pop into town to see the lady boy bar and play pool, just for giggles.
The second day - as i was now travelling with a group of 5 other people - we hired a pick up truck jeep to do a tour of the island. we found so many nice spots and shops and had a really really good day. In the evening four of us were leaving to Koh Samui and two of the boys were sating in Samui because they had family there so we had a big send off and yet another later night.
We were picked up at 6.30am at our bungalow - took the bus to the pier-ferry to the mainland - bus accross the mainland to the next pier - ferry to the island and then thought it would be best if we chose the accomadation closest to us as we were so sleepy. We all had a quick shower then went out for food and a drink.
We saw the most amazing fire show - more like a crazy dance routine with flames thrown into the mixture. but just purely amazing!
Today (still in Koh Phi Phi) we are off on a long tail boat to tour the island and do some snorkling to see the coral. I am also going to the spot where they filmed the beach with leonardo de caprio - fingers crossed he will be visting and fall madly in love me me. Hey you never know it could happen!
One week left today! hasn't it flown by. Speak soon :)
