MY TIME IN ITALY.
Well I arrived on Saturday night at the airport in Rome where Kaye met me. We had dinner at a little Italian restaurant that night with some house wine that wasn't the best haha but the food was good of course!
Caught the train to Florence the next morning. Wow, Florence is just beautiful and I will definitely be returning! When we first arrived we walked around for a little bit exploring, and then headed to the 'Accademia Gallery' where I was able to see the Statue of David, very very impressive!!
After the museum we walked around the markets of Florence and then went to lunch at Kaye's favourite restaurant, Zà Zà's :) and I can certainly see why it is her fav, was delish!
After lunch we visited a church that was lovely and old on the inside and then wandered around the streets for a little bit of shopping! Went to bar afterwards for a drink, and then ended up going back to Zà Zà's for dinner!
Trained it to Orvieto the Monday morning. This is the city Kaye lives in and is about half way between Rome and Florence. It's a beautiful old medieval city, mostly built on a hill top.
When we arrived, Claudio, Kaye's partner was waiting for us at the station. I then went on an underground tour of Orvieto and after Claudio made us the most delicious pasta for lunch.
In the arvo we went for a drive out to a beautiful lake and stopped at a few of their friends houses on the way home.
Orvieto is such an amazingly beautiful city and I'm so glad I could visit!
The next morning, Kaye and I left early for a train back to Roma. Here we did alllll the sightseeing! I saw the Pantheon, went inside the Vatican and the Colosseum, I threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain and walked the Spanish Steps. All was AWESOME! Will definitely be returning to Italy in the future as it is just beautiful!
Next day was Wednesday which meant time to head back to Paris. Flight was so quick of course (perks of traveling within Europe)
Spent the afternoon at the airport alone for a couple hours waiting for the others from my association. When we all met up, we went to a hotel near the airport for the night.
Now it was home time!!
What an amazing 3 months I've had! Such a great opportunity and experience! Have made memories that will last a life time and friends that I'll never forget! :D
