Today marks a daytrip to Vals, Switzerland, for a bit of hydrotherapy. The spa, Therme Vals, is built atop a source of natural springs. There are a number of pools within the spa, each with a different temperature and ambiance. There's a mineral pool, rose petal pool, a sound pool, etc. The whole setting is quite European, with a dark atmosphere, rather than America's light, airy sense of spas. And then there are the saunas (awkward!).
We finished our spa experience with a raw silk massage. Essentially, the masseuse has gloves on that exfoliate the skin. It is supposed to improve circulation and metabolism. After my gelato and pizza, cheese and wine diet that I've been on, I figured it couldn't hurt!
