Hi. A good nights sleep was had by all in our compact and bijou apartment. Showered and ready to move on we said goodbye to the owner and made our way back into Spain!! Trev wanted cigarettes in the Tabac shop and we refuelled the van with cheaper Spanish diesel. Back into France we advanced at a leisurely rate past Bayonne and Biarritz and up the Bay of Biscay coast to the destination of our gite by a lake in Bisscarrose. Problem being we could not get entry until 6.00 pm so it was off to the shops for provisions for our evening meal. Meanwhile I had spotted that our rooms were close to a Seaplane museum so my suggestion to visit was not greeted with enthusiasm but a general way of passing a couple of hours. I found the place quite interesting and I believe my companions did also but they won’t admit it!! We also went to s garden centre looking for olive trees and grape vines for Keith to take home but all we came out with was some chewy toys for Trev’s dog!!!
A wonderful homemade salad with fresh cooked chicken smoked fish and red wine was followed by a french fancy of a cake. Delicious. This gite is by a lake and the views are fantastic. Must go.....Trev’s just spotted an otter in the lake!!
