Just an update to let you know what we're up to! The focus is on "Preparation, Orientation and Training" ahead of the trip which departs in June. The Team is meeting regularly to increase appreciation of Rotary's Group Study Exchange programme, learn more about our destination and to get to know one another! We're grateful to our friend Nick Clarke (www.nickclarkecoaching.co.uk) who has spent time with the team conducting a really helpful session on 'Communication and Team Work'.
We also have a new 'member' of the Team ... Cynthia Rocha will be providing language tuition ahead of our visit to Sao Paulo so that we have some 'fundamentals' in (Brazilian) Portuguese and sufficient confidence to deliver our presentations in the 'local' language. Cynthia is currently studying at the University of Essex and we're looking forward to her 'language lessons'.
Forthcoming events include a 'shopping day' at Lakeside to purchase the Team uniform (...those of you familiar with the GSE programme will know what I'm talking about!) and the District 1240 Rotary Foundation Alumni lunch when we'll make our first Team 'appearance' in public.
Three and a half months to go ...
