Today was one of those up and down days. I was taking out top dog Guardian news guy's son today in the boat. We were playing pirate games and I was the one having the walk the plank every time! Got stung by a jelly fish this morning but the only way forward was to keep on working and make it through the pain. I wanted to work really hard today to impress head beach - good news is, it worked!! So very happy about that, then my manager (who is thought was Mr Nice guy) threw it back in my face by making a sly banter comment back which was not very funny. Banter here is one of the only thing which keeps everyone's humour up however sometimes it goes too far and when it's coming from your manager, I had to have words with him. He's known for his short man syndrome, short temper more like, though he's never lost it with me... Yet.
One of the kids I took out this morning said I was the best instructor ever, not going to lie, I almost cried with happiness! Really getting into this job now and I've got the kids all week which is the best bit!
Got a cracking tab now with some obscene tan lines, one of the chefs is getting sent home soon because he came into work an hour and a half late and way over the limit still drunk! Shame because he makes the best food !
The picture on this blog is of my home, the cabins in the woods... Feels like home now. Better head off back there, keep in touch xx

Nancy Eep! jelly fish stings are not good, but the attitude to keep on working is. The cabin looks great and sounds a lot better than the basement. It's great that you're enjoying teaching as much as the kids are enjoying being taught.
