A cold and wet day today in Juneau. We had a slower start to the day starting with breakfast next door in the cafe before we headed out for a walk downtown. Following the points of Interest on the Juneau Map we took in the sights of the Governor's House. A visit to Juneau Douglas City Museum and viewed an historical movie setting out the time line of events for the establishment of Juneau. A coffee and muffin for morning tea before heading further downtown to see the bronze statue dipicting Juneau's hardrock mining origins. Also on the wharf is a sculpture o fJuneau's most famous dog Patsy Ann,who in the 1930's greeted steamships and visitors. We lunched at the Red Dog Saloon,a walk back in time with the sawdust floors, entertainment and of course all the hunting memorabilia attached around the walls and to the ceiling of the establishment. Back to Driftwood Inn fo ra couple of hours, catching up on the domestics then out to dinner at the local Chinese. Bed early tonight in preparation fo ran early start tomorrow - The Alaskan Marine Highway journey to begin the next leg of our adventure in Canada.
