Some of the many little boats on the harbour at Monterosso al Mare.
We meandered along the Cinque Terre and beyond today.
First stop was Levanto, a small beachside town north of the Cinque Terre. We walked 2 km along the coast from there, going through many disused rail tunnels, till we reached Bonassola, another small beachside town.
We caught the train further north to the last station on the line then turned around and made our way south again to find Monterosso al Mare, Cinque Terre's most northern town. What a vibrant spot that is. The walkway along the beachfront is about 700mts I reckon, with a boat harbour and a few cafes one end and market stalls and many little restaurants the other.
We caught the ferry south to Vernazza then the train back to La Spezia.
Another great day.
