Another day that the alarm went off and getting up was tough. Pete went to the early lecture and I decided to be lazy and stay in bed.
After just one talk Pete was back so we went for a walk. Denver has some similarities to Christchurch, lots of green open spaces with art; sculptures, murals & around the convention centre massive mosaics depicting the cities history. At the front entrance to the convention centre is a giant blue bear peering in through the glass, very cool. There's also a babbling brook with bike and walkways along side it. It looks to be a very liveable place.
Pete headed back for some more MACNA and I set off to go to a nearby shopping centre by bus. I got instructions on where to get the bus but when I got there it was all shut down. Tastes of Colorado is a huge street fair with bars, food & stalls which caused many streets to be shut down and buses cancelled and or re-routed. I gave up trying to find a bus and just explored the fair.
Back to the hotel I made some lunch and met Pete at a very interesting lecture given by an Hawaiian rare fish collector then we had lunch just outside the hall. While there I got a FB message from Norm, the shop owner from Connecticut who bought the extra MACNA tickets we had after Shane and Steph cancelled. He was nearby so we got to meet and will try and catch up at the banquet tonight.
I left Pete there for another couple of talks and went back for a relaxing couple of hours followed by a walk to the local market to pick up a couple of things before joining Pete for the last talk of the day.
After a quick shower and change we headed to the banquet dinner then a few drinks in the hotel bar, a nice end to another good day at MACNA.
