Against the odds Emma and I managed to leave the West Coast and head to Melbourne. We caught a tear filled flight on Wednesday. It was a late afternoon flight which meant a painfully long morning to say goodbye and wait…Me and Shane had a lovely last week together, we were on a time limit so we made the most of every minute- eating in the nicest restaurants, Shane brought me the most beautiful jewelry, we went late night shopping, cooked together, went to the beach etc etc. Me and Emma also met up with the Frenchies one last time, we went for lunch all of us together which was a nice afternoon. I went to Fremantle market one last time, me and em had one last night in the slug and hare and on Monday night Tully and Megan threw us a little leaving party which was lots of fun. Monday was my last day at work and I got my choice of however many cakes I wanted to take home with me… sad day but the cakes certainly helped!Leaving felt very much how I feel when I leave Cyprus- I never want to leave but I know I have to.On our first day in Melbourne me and Emma did what most girls do when they're hurting - we shopped! We shopped till our feet hurt and then we shopped some more. Melbourne is wicked for shopping! Then yesterday we went to Victoria Street market and shopped a little bit more! Whilst we've been here we've stayed in a lovely hostel called the greenhouse- very clean and more like a hotel than a hostel. When we first got to Melbourne it sure was good to be in a proper city again. Grey, cold, busy, noisy, good food, good shopping, rude strangers- felt like home! It did feel strange falling asleep and waking up without the sound of the sea which I've fallen asleep to and woken up to for the past few months. Today we're leaving Melbourne for Sydney where we will spend our last few days in Australia.
