ANZAC Day @ Pearl Harbor
Sarah and I visited Pearl Harbor for a tour of the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Bowfin Submarine and the USS Missouri Battleship.
The attacks on Pearl Harbor remain as one of the most significant events in the history of the United States. What started out as an oridinary Sunday on the island of Oahu, quickly turned tragic, as two waves of Japanese fighter planes bombed and destroyed the peaceful harbor where the U.S. Pacific Fleet was stationed. The island of Oahu and the Unted States of America would never be the same, and instantly the country became involved in World War II.
Today, Pearl Harbor is the most visited destination in all of Hawaii. Visitors to the islands come to Pearl Harbor to pay respects and learn more about the events of December 7, 1941 and World War II.
A few days back, a good-lookin' fella I know turned 39. To help celebrate this very special occasion, the MLB scheduled for the Giants of San Francisco, California to play the Phillies of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania @ AT&T Park in sunny San Francisco. Sarah and I thought it'd be rude to snub their little shin-dig considering all of the work that they had gone to... so we went along to enjoy the Giants victory in front of the sellout crowd! I've added to few photos to the AT&T Park album.
Bye for now.
