We left our lovely home from home behind on Monday. The night before we had been speaking to Daniella and Fitz about where they had been in Sri Lanka and found out that they had stayed in the same place as us in Kandy! It's a very small world. We've realised over the few days we spent with them that we have a lot of learning still to do in life. For example they just try anything their not afraid to offend or do something silly, they were hilarious to be around and were making the most of every experience. Also when they got soaked by the rain they took their stuff to the launderette, we decided to hang it up and hope the sun came out in the morning... It didn't and it took 2 days to completely dry in this humid heat! They also decided to wear suncream when they walked up Little Adams Peak and didn't burn their shoulders and face badly.... Silly us.
We had some leaving photos, which is becoming a habbit with us, gave our hosts a present of Tea which we'd bought from the factory earlier this week as we had such a lovely time and headed on a tuk tuk to the station which they paid for!
Our journey back to Kandy was another 6 hours but we met a nice Australian couple who were traveling around Sri Lanka and later the Maldives. It's nice to find people who are doing the same thing as us, it gives us lots of ideas. They actuallly recommended a website they use to us. We finally arrived in Kandy and sorted ourselves out for the next trip tomorrow to Colombo.
There isn't much to say about our journey or time in Colombo, its not a great city and it costs a fortune to stay there. Tomorrow we get up and get on the train to the airport.
When we first arrived in Sri Lanka we couldn't wait to leave, we even considered the trip being too much for us and that we wouldn't be able to handle Asia. But we actually find ourselves feeling disapointed about leaving so soon. We are so jealous of the people we have met who are exploring so much more of the country, we've only seen a tiny proportion of it and have begun to really enjoy the people and different environment s that this one beautiful island has. We are going to miss you Sri Lanka!
