Today we went across to Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty. She's pretty cool!! And we didn't realise she was a gift from the French! How nice of them haha.
We also hopped off and went to Ellis Island and went through the Museum to learn about all the immigrants coming into America.
We then went and toured the 9/11 tribute centre. Which has all the events of the day, photos and names of everyone who lost their lives and videos of survivors. It was quite sad and real to be in NY and realise it effected everyone around us and the memorial sites are just daily reminders of what they all suffered :(
We then did another bus tour and went through the finance district which was pretty cool - saw Wall Street and learnt about how hurricane sandy actually closed down the stock exchange for a day which never happens!!!
We then hired some bikes and bikes around Central Park. Very close to the city of New York but also very chaotic and loud!! Was nice to be able to bike the whole thing though.
Chris and I decided before we went home for the night we would tackle Dylan's Candy Bar and buy some treats! It's a 3 story building fill with candy where you can get personalised chocolate and gifts as well as having the worlds first 3D gummy Lollie printer! It was cool, I watched some kids get their names and an octopus made.
We then picked up some traditional NYC pizza and went home to bed!!
