The kids woke up around 630am and were keen to pack up the van and head to Narrogin so they hassled us until we were out bed! We had breakfast and then took a long walk down at the beach before heading back to pack up. We took it very slowly and were on the road by 10 am. We stopped in Kojonup for lunch, making sandwiches in the van to take to the park and eat. Unfortunately the park was a no go zone for the dog so we ate up quickly, bought a take away coffee from the Black Cockatoo and then hit the road again. We made it to the farm around 3pm and as we drove down Hilders road the kids were going ballistic with excitement in the back of the car. Nick hadn't even stopped properly before they were jumping out and running up to Lew and Kerryl! We spent a couple of hours sitting outside catching up and when the kids were unable to sit still any longer we jumped in the Ute and went off to feed the lambs. The dog sat on the back of the Ute on the straw bales looking like she'd been on the farm forever! She gave the sheep one small bark but otherwise left them in peace uninterested luckily, preferring to chase butterflies instead!! The kids loved sitting on the back of the Ute too, throwing the feed off to the lambs - they were in heaven. After feeding the second lot of lambs we stopped off at the dam and let the dog have a swim. She was so excited that she did endless mad dog bog laps around us all, soaking the kids so they stripped off to their undies and went for a swim too! We spent the evening sitting outside chatting and had Chinese for dinner so that no one had to cook. Apart from the fantastic company, the kids loved having a sitting room to stretch out in, Nick and I loved having the space of the outside deck and the dog loved running up and down the garden mesmerized by the Christmas lights! It's good to be back at the farm!!
