We all woke up around 430am as sunlight was streaming in through the skylight. The dog was really confused when I tried to put her back to bed after a wee and instead managed to jump on our bed via the couch. She was full of beans and soon woke up everyone else who climbed into our bed too!! We had breakfast and then spent the morning doing schoolwork, as it had been a while since we'd done any. We were all stuck in the caravan as it had started to rain and it continued on and off all day. By lunchtime we needed to escape so we got in the car and headed into town. We drove out to Twilight Beach first and even on such a gloomy day the ocean looked stunning. Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on Twilight so we checked out all the other beaches on our way into town and every other beach is dog friendly. As we got into town we drove along the esplanade to check out the upgrades, as when we were last here in January it was all fenced off for improvements. There was still a bit of work going on but most of the foreshore was accessible and it looked great. Before heading home we called into Woolworths for a joint of meat and came home and cooked a roast dinner - a perfect meal on such a rainy day. By 730pm the smaller kids were falling asleep after such an early start and so they went to bed quite happily. Katharine, Nick and I watched a bit of TV and then fell asleep listening to the rain, which was beginning to seep through the canvas around the beds!
