"The Gronows" have arrived!!! We have been patiently waiting our time out in the horrible weather Buddina has been putting on since Boof and Nikki went back to work. On Sunday, the sun came out for the first time in a week and we headed off to Noosaville to see Dusk, Peter, Jackson and Liam. We were all so excited to see them, this was a very anticipated day and it seemed as if it would never come around. The week prior to them arriving has been boring, with crap weather and all of us getting on one anothers nerves as we have been stuck inside the apartment. But as soon as the day came for us to go and see our mates, the sun came out and was a glorious day.
We got to Noosaville on Sunday around 2pm and met Dusk and Peter and the boys at their apartment. It was an exciting reunion for the young and old. We had hugs and kisses, and even some small tears of joy from the two soft girls (Dusk and me) and then it was as if we continued on were we left off. We went for a walk along the Noosaville river, had an icecream and then headed back to their apartment resort for a swim. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time catching up in the pool. The kids all enjoyed each others company and had a great swim. We had some nibbles on the balcony and a few beers, then Marty, Peter and Jackson headed off to get some snags for the bbq. We were all a bit surprised by the smell of chicken on their return, aparently the supermarket shuts at 6pm so they had to get Red Rooster. We wrapped things up after tea and headed home so we could all get some rest for the packed day of fun we had planned for the next day.
Monday morning came quick enough and we woke to another beautiful day of sunshine. We headed off early and got to Noosaville around 10am. We were all eager to get to the beach so we packed up and went to the Main beach in Noosa. Dusk and l headed straight to the water while Marty and Peter started to kick the ball around with the kids and played some cricket on the beach. The water was a tad cool to start with but after the quick dunk under it was beautiful. After a while, Dusk and l got the idea to try the boogie boards out. Well this was another first for me, while Dusk was a pro. Off she went surfing the wave on this boogy board while the wave just left me for dead. After me trying it out for a while, with no luck l might add, l gave up and handed the board over to Marty, Peter, Boo and Jackson. Surprise, surprise!!! They all did it with ease. Boo loved it, thanks to Dusk's help. Jackson was also a pro and did it naturally. Both Marty and Peter looked like they did it all the time with Peter even doing some body surfing (smart alex!!!). Meg and Liam both got a little wet and then started shivering together simunltaneously (total crack up those two, like an old married couple sometimes). After our fun on the beach, we packed up and headed down to the bbq's for our long awaited snags in bread (only 16hrs later) lol. The kids played duck, duck goose together whilst the bbq was cooking and they also tried very hard to harrass the wild turkeys that were hanging around. What is it with kids wanting to yell and scare birds all the time??? Anyway, we had to fend a few off from trying to steal our bread so lucky we had the 'bird scarers' with us!! lol. After our bbq lunch we headed back to Dusk and Peters apartment for another swim in the pool. It was great to lie down on the chairs by the pool in the sun and watch the kids play. They love hanging out with each so much, its great that their short time apart hasnt faded their friendships. After the swim, around 3:30pm we got organised to go for a fish by the Noosa river. A short walk to the river and we all cast out. Peter had been promising that the fish always bite, so we were all pretty excited with the thought of our possible catches. Well a few hours later, Peter caught 8 (all smallish with one being a toad fish), Dusk caught 2, Boo caught 1 all by herself, and l caught 1 (bloody toad fish) and poor Marty got heaps of bites but no catches (always has bad luck). Was a little excited by the water with my girls injuring the boys. First Boo left her line with hook unattended and Liam stood on it (tears there) and then Jackson tried to get the knife out of Megs hands by grabbing the blade and Meg not letting go, hence a cut to the finger (tears as well) and then there was a big pelican trying to get an easy feed from Peter's catches!!! Excitement plus l told you!! After the fishing expedition we all headed back to the apartment, freshened up and headed out for fish and chips. We were all starving from our action packed day, and a little tired after getting our bellies full. So after tea, we headed home to Buddina to rest and get ready for another awesome day with 'the Gronows"!!!
We are so thankful for Dusk, Peter, Jackson and Liam letting us invade their holiday and catch up with them. It has helped my home sickness, well not home, maybe friend sickness by having our catch up to look forward to. We have missed them and am so glad that we have been able to create some wonderful memories already with them. Thanks guys, cant wait for the next couple of days.....
