The flight got us in early to San Salvador. We had a place to stay in mind but there was two places with the same name. Using my basic Spanish I asked the taxi driver to take us to the cheaper one that I pointed to on the map. When we checked in the cost was twice what we expected (but still cheaper than LA), we initially thought that prices had gone up a lot. After looking at the nice fittings I had my suspicions that we were in the other hotel in the nicest part of town.
San Salvador and in fact El Salvador is not somewhere that we intend to stay long in. It is not the safest place in the world, most places (and the place we are staying) have armed guards.
After a sleep we arranged a coach to take us into Guatemala tomorrow. We have been missing the cheap social traveller scene that Guatemala seems to have. I felt a bit bad when the person we were booking the coach with pointed out we were only spending one day in her native country.

Cinta Cool game. Here i actually wanetd El Salvador to make it for mis guanacos but that last penalty play was harsh. The foul from the EEUU portero was pretty nasty, result of being tired. But when Pef1a came in so aggressively it really surprised me. I was here at the game in Rio Tinto Stadium in 2009 and I was there for the refs' calls in the US's favor, didn't always agree. But he was right to call the game early in this one. He is the boss and it was getting out of hand in the field.
