Ok so I've changed my mind! A fantastic place with some really lovely people just a little moneyfied which I haven't been used to (is moneyfied a made up word?). About 50% are single which is great. Essentially everyone is off doing exercise, treatments, relaxing on the beach during the day - eating the most amazing delicious healthy food and then over dinner there is a group of us who all get together and chat over what we've been doing normally with a lot of laughter - and no alcohol (although it is available).
The funny thing is on the first day I noticed this guy on the beach looking very tanned and chilled out. Then the next day he joined us for dinner. I wrote in my personal diary that he looked like a member of a boy band. A couple of nights later having had dinner with him on the community table every night, it is definitely him. He doesn't talk about it at all and is very much like the rest of us, other than he has been here for over a month trying to re-engerise and will probably stay a few more weeks. I really respect his privacy so no names or photos!
The rest of the group on the table are all really interesting, friendly and here for personal goals but happy to share.
So I've done my yoga with Siri, a very patient teacher who has taken me through the basics, helped me get into positions and poses and started to help me learn a few moves myself. I even booked an additional class. But just not sure I have the discipline to do it myself so we'll have to see where I end up as to whether I carry it on. I've had two incredible massages and lots of gym sessions and classes so feeling very healthy, especially with the food.
Some of us did talk about going to Koh Phangan to the full moon party. I was tempted as it really is supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience dancing with thousands of other people all night on the beach. But we just couldn't pull ourselves away from this place, so a group of us celebrated full moon by going to someones beautiful villa, listening to music and drinking tea! So a later than usual bed time for me - what a rebel!
Last night as it was a few of us last night, Rebecca a lovely Aussie woman arranged with the staff to go down to the beach after dinner and send boats with candles and wishes in out to sea. A beautiful idea, but the tide was wrong and the boats kept coming into shore so in the end we burnt them on lovely fire that had been made for us on the beach, among lanterns and played music. It was still very beautiful on a warm (the nights are mid 20s) night. A lovely end.
It is a place that you can imagine getting addicted to and if you had the money and needed some time out and 'me' time would definitely come back too as many here have.
