Another very busy morning. Each day feels miraculous. Today I figured out Turboscan so I could send signed documents to our wonderful friend and realtor. She is amazing if you need a realtor!!!! I was able to scan and send from my phone!!! We are at our first full hook up campsite in Olympia (State capital) since we landed in Seattle and got our RV and dog. Each day Gary and I discover something new whether it is technology, water, stove, refrigerator, electricity, heat, email, texting, scanning, printing, pandora... the list goes on and on. We wake up with so much appreciation for all of it. We are amazed with this technology. We couldn't figure out how to get pandora on our RV and I called the company. They walked me through it. Soo ridiculously easy and simple!!!! So now we have amazing music while driving and I am blogging looking at the sky with incredible clouds, mountains in the distance, trees, and streams etc. Our gratitude grows.
A few days ago we bought a printer and I hooked it up to the computer without Mitch or Bill or anyone's help. Did it by myself and felt like a big kid! It worked and still works! Another amazing thing.
We are in this house on wheels and while driving we can do banking, bills, and laundry. This morning while doing bills, I was able to do 3 loads of laundry. you might say...no big deal. But on this RV, everything feels like a big deal. Everything!!! Cooking, refrigeration, showers! OMG, showers...if we are not at a full hook up site, we usually take "military" showers in a couple of minutes to save water. Luckily we have heated water (tankless water heater on board). Each day we try to fit in running and Yoga while cooking, exploring, bills, and everyday life stuff except we are on the road. So much to be grateful for!!! Most of all our friends and family!!! We love you!!!!
Its amazing how appreciative one becomes when everyday things work. Gary will tell you his story...
We are heading down to Woodland, Washington now and then on towards Oregon for a minor repair.
There is a Youtube video by Ted Talks that is fabulous! Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXDMoiEkyuQ
Fabulous in every way! It is about being grateful for each and every day! I can thank Connie for reminding me of it. I hope you enjoy it.
GARY'S "ON THE ROAD" again....: A mix MECHICAL TALK, regional economics and history. I'm writing this inaugural piece of e/parchment looking out over the Columbia River in Southern Washington. Lewis and Clark expedition... Wa. high sales tax, no state income tax. Oregon NO sales tax, but state income tax. California high sales tax and high income tax. GO figure....................
I've spent my entire adult life learning and continuing to study anatomy, physiology and malfunctions (aka disease). Now, although "retired" I'm doing the same, really. But this time, it's a also a new language (RV and mechanical speak) and lots of anatomy, physiology (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc.) and malfunctions too. Just the same old troubleshooting, but this time, only with a single species...
New language, new words such as: diesel pusher, dinghy/toad, inverter, converter, DEF, black/grey water, holding tanks, AC, DC, watts, voltage, amps, kilowatts, dump station, Power Control System/Central Monitoring System, Exhaust Brakes, Air Brakes, Computerized Leveling Jacks, Boondocking/Dry Camping, Full hook-ups, to just name a very few new words. To be discussed in later editions...
