We started out yesterday sleeping until 9:00. That never happens. We went downstairs for breakfast which was very good by a young guy about Eric's age who is also interested in food trucks. Ben, the cook puts love into the food. You can taste it. We had german pancakes that were made with apples and cinnamon and not sure what else and delicious with a side of cut up tomatoes, oil, basil, salt, and pecans. Yummy! Yes, it is all about the food....We love good food and food that is made with love.
It reminded me of a story. A Yoga teacher, Ragani, lived with a Swami in India. He told her this story to make a point about cooking food with love. One day his housekeeper was cooking dinner and while cooking she got into a bid argument with son. The Swami was on the other side of the house and didn't hear the argument. She finishes cooking and brings the dinner down to him. He says "Take the food away". She responds with a question and upset that she made the food for him and why won't he take it. He says, "I can feel the anger in your food and I don't want to eat angry food." Interesting?
After breakfast we went down to a local bakery and ordered the most amazing cinnamon bread that we have ever eaten. The baker is known in this town for her bread. We ordered 2 of them. One for Mitch and his friends and one for us to share with our friends, Russ and Grace. We will pick up this bread tomorrow. Afterwards, we decided to take a 2 and a half mile walk to a local restaurant known for its wonderful lobster and fish and everything else. It was a fabulous walk with the sun shining and water inlets, docks, and bridges and beautiful views everywhere. We get to the restaurant and we find out that lunch is closed. So we laughed and went back into Boothbay Harbor. We enjoyed a great lunch at a local seafood place. We finished another great day with a fantastic run, shower, and dinner with our friends. We went to another great restaurant, a local pub in Damariscotta. We were amazed at the food!!!
Cioppino in a curry broth was fantastic! Then we walked one block to a local theatre where we saw world trained musicians in a string quartet that was fabulous. The final piece was composed by George Crumb, called "Black Angels for the electric sstring quartet." It was so interesting because he composed this whole piece for instruments that were not even in existence yet. Out of the box!!1
