Sunday 6th September - Day at sea
Happy Father's Day
We got up a bit later this morning as we were going to be at sea the whole day. Last night there were winds of 35 knots and a sea of 2 metres. There was a little rocking in our cabin but nothing to put us off sleeping.
We went to breakfast at 9.00am and just sat in a window seat and watched the wide open ocean roll past.
We had a galley tour at 10.15 am and although it was interesting we couldn't hear what our group leader was saying. The kitchen area was amazing considering that they make 13,000 dishes every day. There are 130 chefs working 24/7 to prepare our meals and those of the crew too.
On an average 14 day cruise they consume some 18254 pounds of beef, 7242 lbs of chicken, 14,000lbs of potatoes, 2250 lbs of coffee, 6000 tea bags, 18450 bottles of assorted wines, 18,000 litres of beer, 7200 eggs, 38659lbs of vegetables and 5000lbs of rice.
