Friday 28th August pm

We got here ahead of Jane and Paul who aren't due in till the 4.35pm train so they will be another hour in getting to us.
Jannie and I were beggared lugging the cases up steps, down steps, onto the boat, off of the boat , over a step bridge over a canal, back over the same bridge cause we had gone too far and finally up the narrow stairs to our room. Have a wash and changed our clothes then we went out to the waterfront and had a beer and pizza. The beer was to help us cool down.
Afterwards with Jannie armed with a map we set off for a bit of a walk. Along canals, over bridges, round corners, cross to the other side of the canal as there is only a footpath on one side of every canal, back down a couple of small alleyways and voila back to our apartment. Not really an apartment just a small bedroom and a reasonable size ensuite.
Jannie hasn't felt the best today and has had a sore throat for a few days now but still managed to down some pizza and a beer.

We have been away from home now for 6 weeks!
